On April 2, 2008, Lt. Governor Brad Owen along with Dr. Antonio Sanchez were knighted by the King of Spain in a ceremony conducted on the Senate Floor of the Washington Legislative Building, Olympia, Washington.

The attendance of invitees filled the room to an overflowing capacity and the reception was a very special event, one that will be remembered for years to come.

The Washington Generals served as ambassadors for the ceremony and helped make arrangements for the attending dignitaries and special guests.
